I've played games since the 70s and rank Vice City as my favourite game of all time. I've owned at least one console of each generation during the years, except for the latest generation. But that will change when GTA 6 is released.

I remember I was incredibly excited for the release of fallout three I had never played any of the other ones before it but I was on board for everything I was seeing coming out of the game. I’m from Australia there was this stupid little thing where the ratings board of Australia didn’t want I believe it was Jet to be called that, so I waited till I was on a holiday in North America to buy an American version of fallout three.

I don't know why but I abhored this game as a non-western person after sone few plays. Maybe couldn't connect with this game

I happened to really enjoy the watchmen game as a kid, was one of the first games I replayed when I got a gaming PC back in 2020.

The global popularity of this game is underrated. In an age of worldwide release, we don't quite appreciate the movement of games through countries and cultures, and the actual physical movement of CDs and DVDs that had the game. Released in 2002, this game game to the subcontinent in a burgeoning home computer industry in the late 00s. Because original softwares were expensive, there was a huge piracy industry around it, and quickly the game was pirated by local rackets. But what really fascinates me is the underground dubbing and re-invention of the game's audio material by Bangladesh which made its way through the early torrent system into India. It featured Bengali dialogues, bollywood radio stations, and an incredibly well adapted story that made sense in the Bengali context. My entire childhood was about playing the pirated version of this game on a PC with a CRT display, then LCD monitors, as time passed by. There will never be another time for the gaming industry where this level of organic spread will be seen. Nowadays the industry is more profitable than cinema and it relies on technology that has rapidly equalised in terms of reach. Perhaps piracy still exists, idk, as I don't play anymore. But the industry truly relies on multiplayers, consoles and consumer reach in a way that makes the gaming experience more culturally unifrom, and niche.

One thing I find annoying is that every time a younger person is making FallOut content like this they always give FO3 credit for "getting everyone into the FallOut franchise" which may be true for those same younger persons. I was a teenager during the 90s and i can assure you that most people into gaming knew about or played FallOut from the very start.. those games was a success back then. FallOut was big and famous before Bethesda.. Bethesda just carried it even further. So NO - many FallOut fans probably DIDN't Get into the franchise because of FO3.. thank you!

Could you explain to me how Sonny set up Tommy to lose the money in Vice city? I think you got confused with the whole Tommy went to jail as a result of being set up by Sonny when Sonny sent Tommy to kill 1 guy and it was really a ambush orchestrated by Sonny to wack Tommy.

Still waiting for a remake

Much of rather preferred an actual sequel to Area 51 instead of someones personal political statement..probably would of sold better too..but ok...was still alright from what I remember.

I really hope the satisfying lunge from this game will be in Insomniac's Wolverine. That, bonus costumes, and damage regeneration effects should be the only mandatory things to bring back.

I honestly don't remember Melchior despite playing Fallout 2 numerous times. Maybe I usually skip him. I don't think he's necessary in any way. The gauss pistol is nice, but you can get a rifle from San Fransisco if you are lucky with trader inventories. I'm beginning to wonder if I ever did this fight. Almost tempted to fire up another Fallout 2 game to try it out.

Part one's writing is just better, stories more cohesive the urgency is real. It's just a tight amazing game. Fallout 2 is longer more expansive more the good less of the bad. For me. It's hard to say one is just better than the other.

Ironically, I think I remember when this game came out because my mind went " _Reminds me of Jet-Set Radio._ " . Then I forgot about it until my friend linked me this video, hah. I find the PS2 graphics charming and much more enjoyable to look at than modern ultra-realism. So this game is going into my wishlist on steam. All that platforming is getting me really giddy!

It'll be interesting if we play a game based on real life criminals in video game form. I'd imagine Bonnie & Clyde, would be a GTA clone and a Scarface gameplay for Pablo Escobar.
